Tide of Chaos, Fervor Within: Chinese Painters of the 17th Century Respond to Dynastic Upheaval

In this exhibition, 56 masterworks of 12 unparalleled Chinese artists presented their explorations into the redefinition of painting as art.

Last displayed nearly two decades ago, these works represent the leading examples outside Asia of their type or subject matter.

Tide of Chaos, Fervor Within affords a rare opportunity to view the cream of the Museum’s world famous masterpieces of Chinese painting produced during a remarkably fertile artistic period in world history.
